I am a Managing Partner here at BTB Security where I work to understand each of our clients’ respective needs and craft custom solutions to address their concerns. The ability to work with a client to create and deliver these solutions is one of the major reasons I decided to become a part of BTB. While working for other security organizations I would see them try to sell a client a canned service offering when just a couple conversations and a few tweaks would result in a solution that the client would get the most out of.
Delivering high quality security services is second nature to everyone here at BTB, myself included. I understand that clients are looking for expert advice from a trusted advisor and I take that responsibility seriously. Clients can, and should, expect the very best from us regardless of how big or small the engagement.
I joined the United States Marine Corps right after high school and afterwards jumped right into my IT career. After a short stint as a network administrator I started work in the information security field and the rest is history. I currently hold the CISSP and CCE designations and have over ten years of industry experience.
When I’m not at work…
I spend a lot of my time researching and messing around with the “next big things” in information security. Sometimes this is a new technology or technique, other times its just participating in a message board discussion or two. When I’m not playing on the computer I’m playing with my dog Selkie, a four year old Bullmastiff. The greatest dog breed…ever.
I am one of the founders and Managing Partners of BTB Security. I decided to found BTB with Ron because I felt that being an independent, security-focused professional services company was the best way to serve our clients.
Delivering high quality security services is paramount to me. I have spent a lot of time with many clients over the years, and understand the need to have pragmatic, actionable requirements that make sense for your business. No solution is one-size-fits-all, and I will make sure to work with you to find that through flexible, two-way conversation.
I’ve had almost every job you can have in IT: helpdesk, programming, server management, network administration and project management. I’ve managed P&L’s and employees for a large professional services group. I was also previously a computer designer for flight control and engine control systems for a DoD contractor.
I received a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University, and am a CISSP and CCE. I could go on about skills, training, certs and affiliations, but we can get to all of that good stuff when you contact us.
When I’m not working…
Even when not working, I enjoy researching new security trends, or creating open source tools. I enjoy rock and ice climbing, and camping with my kids. I love riding my motorcycle and customizing it. I’m a big beer fan and always keep a keg on tap in my house for anyone who stops by.
I am one of the Managing Partners here at BTB Security. I joined the BTB ranks to be able to focus my energy into helping my clients achieve their goals by partnering with each of them and providing sensible and appropriate recommendations.
I am passionate (some may say obsessive) about providing high-quality and valuable deliverables and services. During my professional career I have developed standardized and repeatable processes and deliverables that help to ensure consistency and quality.
I earned a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Drexel University. I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), an Archer Certified Consultant, and am TOGAFv8 certified. I’ve been in and around information technology since my childhood and have been consulting and working in the field since the early 90s.
My life outside of work…
Let’s start by saying I probably spend way too much time behind the computer screen. When I escape, my activities include: go kart racing (www.njkarting.org) , road cycling, mountain biking, and bowling. I like to use my hands to tinker and fix things automotive, electrical, household, and pretty much anything I can get myself into.
I am one of the founders and Managing Partners of BTB Security. I spend most of my time with clients delivering unique solutions and fine-tuning the offerings of BTB to satisfy the diverse base of BTB customers. I also spend time determining what next big things in IT will affect BTB and our customers.
Throughout my time at BTB Security, I’ve been a Swiss Army Knife of skills, basically doing whatever has to be done to ensure the success of the company, and the satisfaction of the clients and employees.
I received a BS from Juniata College, and am a CISSP, CCE and CBCP. I could go on about skills, training, certs and affiliations, but we can get to all of that good stuff when you contact us.
Passions outside of work…
Aside from being a security geek by trade which is one of my passions, I’m a complete tinkerer and love to learn new things. I’ll try anything once and love to fix, remodel, and build in my spare time. I love anything that goes fast, voluntarily go into dangerous spots as a volunteer firefighter, brew beer, and occasionally enjoy a good beer and a fine cigar.
