Learn MoreRon Schlecht, Jr. is the Founder and Managing Partner of BTB Security, a cyber security focused services firm that specializes in proactively detecting threats as well as defending against and defeating cyber security adversaries. He uses his background in law enforcement, information security, and forensics to help organizations shield their assets, customers, and employees against security breaches.
Ron believes in going beyond the basics to develop and deliver unique services that protect and bring true business value to BTB’s diverse customer base. A frequent speaker at industry events, Ron constantly studies IT trends and developments to determine how every ‘next big thing’ in IT will affect BTB and their customers.
Before devoting his work fulltime to BTB Security, Ron developed and lead professional service teams by architecting and driving security organizations as a CISO at firms such as Ernst & Young, Black Rock, and KPMG. He is a certified CISSP, CCE, and is affiliated with InfraGard Philadelphia and ISFCE.
Ron holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Criminal Justice from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania—where he continues to serve on the college’s IT Advisory Board.
Brian Bailey (CISSP, CCE) is a managing partner at BTB Security, a cyber security-focused services firm that specializes in proactively detecting threats as well as defending against and defeating cyber security adversaries. Prior to joining BTB, Brian had successfully developed and led security-focused professional services teams with firms such as with Halock Security and Sungard. He has spent nearly 15 years in the information technology industry with more than 10 years devoted to information security.
Brian’s background ranges from penetration testing and web-application assessments to design and implementation of security and network solutions as well as performing incident response and digital forensic examinations. He also has significant experience helping organizations achieve compliance with the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standard.
Brian's specialties include incident response, recovery, and analysis as well as network architecture review and design, vulnerability assessments, and regulatory review in HIPAA, GLBA, and Sarbanes-Oxley. He has also completed Qualified Security Assessor and Payment Application Qualified Security Assessor Training through PCI.
Chris McGinley (CISSP, CCE) is a managing partner at BTB Security, a cyber security-focused services firm that specializes in proactively detecting threats as well as defending against and defeating cyber security adversaries. Prior to joining BTB, Chris successfully managed information security consulting teams for organizations including Core BTS and SunGard. Chris has developed security methodologies and tools for testing, assessing, reporting, and streamlining the delivery of information security and computer-forensics.
Chris’s natural curiosity drives him to determine how things work, what breaks them, and how to fix them. Coupled with his technical aptitude, he is an ideal advisor, analyst, and partner for clients. He has over 20 years of experience in business and IT architecture, IT support, software development, systems administration, information security, computer forensics, incident response, project management, sales support, and team management—as well as incident response, penetration testing, recovery, and analysis.
Mike Lefand is the Security Operations Manager for BTB Security. Mike is an accomplished IT management professional with over 24 years of progressive experience in Information Technology and Information Security, building and leading highly talented teams to achieve an exceptional level of corporate information security assurance. Before joining BTB Security, Mike was the security director for one of the top mortgage lenders in the United States.
Mike is an understanding, innovative individual who has an excellent sense of teamwork to get results by instilling commitment, trust, fairness, and loyalty. He has a proven ability to lead, direct, inspire, and recruit, develop, and retain top talent. Mike has a passion for innovation in security, research, and risk management to optimize security investments, avoid losses from security incidents, and ensure security compliance.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Drew University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Computer Security from Strayer University.
David has nearly 25 years of experience spanning roles in Information Security, IT, Risk, and Audit. He has held senior leadership positions at two Fortune 500 financial software and services companies, with extensive global experience in capital markets, banking, insurance, broker-dealers, and payment technologies.
David leads BTB Security’s CISO Advisory practice, where his focus includes working with clients on their information security strategies. By being able to thoroughly understand his client’s business environment, major initiatives, and value creation process, David helps clients develop roadmaps for building information security programs that are practical, effective, commensurate with risks, and aligned with business goals.
Before joining BTB Security, David developed information security and technology risk programs for several companies. He has also built and led high-performing global information security teams. Because much of his work experience was spent in two demanding, regulated industries (financial services and pharmaceuticals), David has an appreciation for the operational and compliance challenges that many of his clients face.
As a Client Relationship Manager for BTB Security, Sean works closely with BTB’s clients, as well as BTB’s Sales and Delivery teams to ensure that clients receive exceptional service. Sean draws upon his experience in both financial services client servicing and information security sales to continuously enhance BTB’s client relationships and continue to strengthen BTB's value proposition. Sean’s primary focus areas include:
Sean comes to BTB with a background in analytics, client servicing, operations, and technology sales. Sean works internally as a client advocate, with a focus on client satisfaction and retention. In the Client Relationship Manager role, Sean is able to combine his passion for technology and his desire to work closely with both internal and external personnel in an effort to provide clients with exemplary service.
Shannon Younghans is the Project Management Lead at BTB Security. Shannon has worked most of her professional life in the Information Technology, specializing in Information Security for the past 6 years. She has industry experience in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical marketing, health care, financial services, and non-profit sectors. Shannon has managed and implemented several company-wide change initiatives through the planning, design, development and implementation phases.
At BTB, Shannon works across all departments to support project coordination, cross-functional collaborations, and continual process improvement. Although, Shannon works with all departments at BTB, her main focus is the coordination of stakeholders, communications, and ensuring that the RADAR deployments and IR projects are delivered within scope, on schedule, on budget, and at the highest level of quality.
Working closely with the Threat Operations Manager and Team, she has valuable insight into the day-to-day operations for each client, while also ensuring that the Threat Ops Team has the resources, tools, and information that they need in order to provide each client with the best RADAR experience.
As part of the Incident Response Team, Shannon ensures that both BTB and the client teams have an open line of communication, guaranteeing that both teams are working as efficiently as possible to resolve the incident.
Shannon works actively with her peers, experts in the industry, and through continuous education to expand and deepen her understanding of Information Technology, Network Infrastructure and Information Security.
